Our Mission

We celebrate the Good News of Jesus Christ

by Serving the Community and the World”

‘Whoever welcomes you welcomes me,

and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.

Matthew 10.40:

Welcome to the First United Methodist Church,
Our purpose is to be an open community of believers who proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord and who recognize that new possibilities are realized in a common growth in worship, study, fellowship, and mission. Our small groups are also places of warmth and sharing where people can establish closer ties and receive the supportive fellowship and caring of others. The First United Methodist Church in Rhinelander has many Ministries to offer which are an exciting way for people to meet Christ today. This faith community impacts families, the community, and our world. The different groups within the Church are often diverse, but are united nevertheless by the love God has shown us in Jesus Christ. To us, Church membership is more than just a status - it is a call to discipleship. This means we are called to grow in faith and be changed as the community changes.  Looking for a group or activity that interests you? -  You will find here some of the ministries to help you on your own discipleship journey. Check out the many activities and Small Group Ministries listed in the left hand column! Existing small groups are always open to newcomers.
